Face Masks for BCFPE Union Members
In light of Governor Hogan’s new mandate that everyone will be required to wear face masks starting Saturday April 18, 2020 at 7:00 a.m., BCFPE will be offering 4 FREE face masks for BCFPE Union Members. These masks will be available at the Union Office for curbside pickup at 305 West Chesapeake Ave., Towson, Maryland 21204.
The masks curbside pickup will be available as follows:
- Friday, April 17, 2020 from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
- Monday, April 20, 2020 all day, from 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Tentative Agreement between BCFPE and County
BCFPE and the Baltimore County Administration have come to a Tentative Agreement (TA) to amend the current Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which would otherwise expire on June 30, 2020. [You can read the Tentative Agreement here]. The BCFPE Negotiations Committee unanimously recommended the TA to the Executive Board for acceptance. On April 9, 2020 the BCFPE Executive Board unanimously accepted the TA and recommended it for a ratification vote by the membership.
Telecommunicators Week
BCFPE President John Ripley and the Executive Board would like to thank Baltimore County 911 Center personnel for their service everyday and offer special recognition during National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week. Our 911 employees are on the front line of emergencies, serving as that vital link between the vulnerable and other first responders. Thank you for your service!
BCFPE Election Committee Volunteers Needed
Pursuant to the BCFPE constitution, if you are a member in good standing and wish to, you may volunteer for the Election Committee to accept nominations for Board Members. Please submit your name to Frank Pratka at fpratka@aftmd.org by May 7, 2020. The BCFPE Executive Board will make the selection of committee members.
BCFPE Holds General Membership Meeting - Feb 2020
Members gathered in the union office for the BCFPE general membership meeting. After snacking on meatballs, chicken nuggets, a fruit platter, and cookies, those in attendance got down to the business of the union. The membership meeting was made up of a diverse cross-section of the bargaining unit. President John Ripley noted that reclassification is an important issue for many in the union.
