On August 4, 2016 at the scheduled BCFPE Executive Board Meeting & June 22nd General Membership Meeting, membership were notified of the pass thru dues increase for both the state and national federations. The pass thru dues increase totals $0.37per pay making the BCFPE dues deduction a total of $23.96per pay effective September 1, 2016.
We understand this is a tough year for all employees and considered every alternative. The increase is a pass-through to cover the monthly increases raised by our AFT-Maryland and AFT National affiliations.
American Federation of Teachers (National) provides research, publications, mobilization support, recruitment material, annual auditing, local support and a host of other membership benefits.
AFT-Maryland provided the leadership and guidance for local negotiations. AFT-Maryland has made some of BCFPE's issues priority legislation in Annapolis and given organizing assistance to promote local autonomy. AFT-Maryland remains committed to ensure BCFPE's Local success.
This pass-through increase will increase BCFPE dues from $23.59 to $23.96 per pay and Service-Fee amount from $18.15 to $18.63 per pay beginning September 1, 2016.
