BCFPE Holiday Volunteering

Leadership of the Baltimore County Federation of Public Employees took time out of their Christmas celebrations with their own loved ones, to deliver presents to county public safety personnel that worked on Christmas Day. President John Ripley donned a Santa costume (beard is all his own however) to spread good cheer to those working. The union prepared care packages leading up to the holiday that Santa and his helper, Mrs. Mary Ripley, delivered to public safety workers helping to keep us safe. It wasn’t the first time that President RipleyClaus made an appearance. This year at the County Executive’s Holiday Party, President Ripley wore his costume and Executive Vice President Adam Hendrix looked dapper in a customized Christmas suit.

This kind Christmas day gesture comes after members from BCFPE volunteered packing holiday baskets for the AFL-CIO. Members donated goods, and stuffed the boxes with non-perishable foods that provided warm, nutritious holiday meals for Baltimore families.

Community service and outreach is an additional hallmark of the BCFPE. While the first mission is the ensure fair pay and safe working conditions for members, the union also takes seriously its responsibility to the community we serve. If you’d like to join BCFPE in our next community outreach event, you can donate to our Polar Bear Plunge Team which is raising money for Special Olympics Maryland.
