As the holidays draw closer, everyone is getting in the spirit. That includes Baltimore County Federation of Public Employees (BCFPE) President John Ripley. President Ripley brought some cheer to our Metro Baltimore AFL-CIO neighbors in Harford County joining with the Fallston Volunteer Fire and Ambulance and the Marine Corps Reserve for their Toys for Tots program. While most days, you can find President Ripley in the office and around the county working for employees in Baltimore county, on this night he and his wife Mary transformed from labor unionists to Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Celebrating one of our own! The new Baltimore County executive John Olszewski Jr. has named BCFPE President and AFT-Maryland Vice President John Ripley to his transition team. Ripley has been assigned to the public safety workgroup. This selection demonstrates Ripley's leadership in Baltimore County and is evidence that those in the county know and respect the Baltimore County Federation of Public Employees. We had hoped that the Court would rule that the County’s action would allow us to go to arbitration on issues of salary, reclassification, and 12-hour shift issues.

With this in mind the BCFPE Executive Board voted on 09/05/18 not to pursue the Grievance to the Maryland Court of Appeals for three reasons:
