On 03/29/10 the BCFPE Negotiations Committee has reached a tentative agreement with Baltimore County for a FY2011 contract (beginning July 2010.) Basically, the agreement still includes the removal of the controversial 20 year-old provision and it also includes minimal pension changes to ensure the stability of the Baltimore County Retirement System. The pension adjustments come with the securities that guarantee scheduled steps and longevity increases as well as guaranteeing no lay-off or furloughs and no additional retirement changes through FY2012 (June 30, 2013.)
These securities come at a time of turbulent economic uncertainties and it is imperative that we seek to secure important benefits through what experts estimate as the economic recovery period. To this end, BCFPE Negotiations Committee and BCFPE Executive Board have adopted the FY2011 Tentative Agreement.
