IMPORTANT NOTICE OF UPCOMING CONTRACT RATIFICATION VOTE
FOR BCFPE MEMBERS ONLY

Beginning June 15, 2021 at 8:00 AM until June 17, 2021 at 8:00 PM, The Baltimore County Federation of Public Employees will be holding a contract ratification vote for members only.

This ratification vote will be held electronically. You will receive an email to your Baltimore County email address from Baltimore County Federation

BCFPE has reached a Tentative Agreement with Baltimore County for a two-year contract extension through FY2023. 

The BCFPE Negotiation Committee and the BCFPE Executive Board have unanimously accepted and recommend the Tentative Agreement for ratification by BCFPE Members. Full information regarding the Tentative Agreement, Informational Zoom meeting, and the ratification process will be forthcoming.

2020 General Membership Meetings

The BCFPE Executive Board has approved the following dates for the 2020 General Membership Meetings:

  • Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. 
  • Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at 6:00 pm. (Cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic)
  • The following dates will take place in an online Zoom meeting format to explain the Tentative Agreement and ratification vote.
    • May 11, 2020 at 9:00 a.m.
    • May 12, 2020 at 8:00 p.m.
    • May 13, 2020 at 12:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, September 23 Tuesday Sept. 1, 2020 at 6:00 pm. (approved change)

The BCFPE Elections Committee has concluded the local's 2020 Election of Officers, with results provided by Elections USA, Inc. The new officers are as follows:

  • President: John Ripley
  • Executive Vice-President: Adam Hendrix
  • Secretary: Donna Neumeister
  • Treasurer: Dene Williams-Hatcher
  • Area I Vice President: VACANT (to be appointed by the Executive Board)
  • Area II Vice President: Christopher Morgan (new)
  • Area III Vice President: Matthew Madairy (new)
  • Area IV Vice President: Angela Spencer
  • Area V Vice President: Philbert E Christian
  • Area VI Vice President: Hermes L Rios

Ballots for the 2020 BCFPE Elections for all Union Officers will be mailed via Elections USA.

  • Please see the NOTICE OF UPCOMING BCFPE ELECTIONS flyer below for further information.
  • Ballots will be mailed by Elections USA by Sept. 11, 2020, and must be received back (not postmarked, but received) in their P.O. Box by Sept. 29, 2020.
  • If you have not received a ballot by September 18, 2020 please notify the committee chair immediately to receive a replacement ballot. Replacement ballots can be requested no later than September 18, 2020.
  • Executive Board Nominations form is available below.
  • Executive Board nominations are due by the General Membership Meeting on Tuesday, September 1, 2020.

The BCFPE membership voted to approve the FY2021 contract by a 94.1% vote, guaranteeing no layoffs, no furloughs, and guaranteed funding of steps and longevity. These guarantees are not promised to our State Union brothers and sisters who potentially face:

  • Permanent elimination of PINs (jobs)
  • 5% Loss in Wages and Benefits
  • Elimination of previously negotiated salary increases and cost-of-living adjustments
  • Greater employee contribution to their health insurance plans (which translates to a cut in take home pay)
  • Adjusting rules to limit when workers qualify for overtime pay

RATIFICATION VOTE 06/18/2020. Please see the attached copy of the results from the ratification vote which took place between June 16-18, 2020. The vote was facilitated through ElectionBuddy, Inc. and based on the results, the BCFPE contract was ratified by 94.1% vote. Thank you to everyone who participated in the contract ratification.
